After the success of the first 30kms of trails, Warburton Bike Park is gearing up to go bigger. New trails will be opened from April 4, 2026 – more than doubling the network of purpose‑built mountain bike trails.

Along with more terrain to explore, the highly anticipated shuttle uplift services will also commence, promising more opportunities to explore the trails and features.

Yarra Ranges Mayor, Cr Richard Higgins said the enthusiasm for the initial trails has been wonderful to see – but the best is yet to come.

“We’re really excited to share these new trails. World Trail have been working hard to craft some truly exceptional riding experiences, and this next stage will really show what Warburton Bike Park can deliver.”

World Trail is well-known for their passion for sustainability and innovation when it comes to trail building, and the excellent trail building conditions in Warburton have enabled them to showcase an impressive range of riding experiences.

After welcoming predominately Melbourne-based riders, for the first 30kms, the new trails are expected to attract experienced riders from interstate and beyond.

Warburton Bike Park ambassador, cross country mountain bike World Champion Paul van der Ploeg, is excited to show off the new trails:

‘It’s super exciting to be part of the Warburton Bike Park team as an ambassador for the new trails. The area has an incredibly diverse landscape and all on Melbourne’s doorstep. It’s one of the most anticipated mountain bike trail networks in Australia and in April there are some amazing trails opening. It’s going to be a massive year for Warburton and the area.”

SHUTTLES ARE COMING

Shuttles will begin running from the fourth of April, with bookings opening in March.

“The new trails will particularly excite intermediate and experienced riders. With 750 metres of elevation, it’s the perfect time to introduce the shuttle services,” he said.

As well as providing an additional way for riders to experience the trails, the shuttle service plays an important role in the ongoing success of the Park, with revenue going towards the management and maintenance of the trails to ensure they continue to meet the very highest standards.

Shuttle bookings will open in March, via the newly launched Warburton Bike Park website at www.warburtonbikepark.com.au .

“Now is the moment to start planning a visit to the beautiful upper Yarra Valley region. Alongside world‑class riding, the surrounding townships are home to fantastic hospitality, retail and wellness experiences that will make your stay truly memorable,” said Cr Higgins.
